Wattle upgrade – Unavailable between 14 and 15 December 2020

Wattle will be upgraded from version 3.5 to 3.9, including these key improvements between 14-15 Dec. The content of Wattle courses will not be changed by this upgrade. All the resources and activities of each course will be fully available after the upgrade.

Please note that Wattle and any of the related tools will be affected:

• Wattle (Moodle) cannot be used, login will be unavailable.
• Adobe Connect – cannot be used without Wattle
• Turnitin – cannot be used without Wattle
• Echo360 can still make recordings using teaching venues and Universal Capture (Personal), and these can be uploaded to the Echo360 server
• Zoom and Teams – can be used by logging in directly to Zoom or Teams but be sure to distribute meeting links before the outage or via email (some courses share these links via Wattle).

Aligned with the upgrade, Wattle User Guides will be refreshed and re-organised. Please contact education.cass@anu.edu.au if you need any help.

Semester 1 Course Sites

We are currently in the process of creating Semester 1 course sites. These will be available to you on 18 January 2021 and to students on 8 February 2021. If you would like to have your sites released to you sooner, please let us know.

The CASS Education Development Studio (EDS) is also working to help people improve their course and assessment design. Notably, we are looking at options to streamline the process of marking and providing feedback through the use of rubrics and other tools such as quiz, H5P (interactive embedded activities) and/or the lesson tool. Please contact education.cass@anu.edu.au if you would like some help setting up your course site for Semester 1, 2021.
